Commentary?

The last two posts are almost not related to the campaign; included them mostly as a demonstration of how much my plans for the campaign changed as I started talking to the players. I ended up scrapping all that to go with a Diamond Throne/island-hopping structure, a decision I mention only because nowhere is it explicitly reflected in my notes, and because I never fully implemented it, either.

On a related note: does anyone want me to do commentary on these notes? Or just post them? Because the notes do mostly speak for themselves. I could mention things that I never actually bothered to write down, or explanations for various decisions, but I don't know that it's really necessary.

Interested?

Does anyone still want me to post the notes for this campaign? I'm perfectly happy to do so, but I don't want it to be just a self-congratulatory exercise that no one else is interested in.

I don't have much in the way of "adventure notes," exactly, but I have all my notes taken during the sessions, NPC information, and various plans and brainstorming that didn't necessarily pan out.

So . . . just comment here if you want to read that stuff, or if there's anything particular that you want to see/not see.

Session 22 Notes

It's horribly late and perhaps not technically complete, but it is, in some fashion, finished. Everyone was there, we had a good time. If you think of something that I missed, just jot it down and I'll make an edit or two.

Session 21 Notes

Really sorry this is so late. Nothing much else to say, since everyone was here. (I know, because everyone is mentioned in my notes. For once.)

Session 20 Notes

See? Haven't forgotten!

I think everyone was here this time, but I can't be totally sure. If someone was missing, it was Rellik, but it's hard to tell because he never really says much anyway.

Session 19 Notes

Paerk's player wasn't here.

These are getting later and later, aren't they?

Session 18 Notes

Everyone was here this session.

Another very late summary.

Notes Session 17

Another horribly late summary. At least it's here! Oh, yeah. Success.

On a more update note: Everyone was here! Eventually, at least. People might have been late. (07/01/07: Actually, Rellik's player wasn't. Yet another reason to get these done in a timely manner.)

Paerk joined the group, a spryte (quickling) greenbond who worked for the city of Ao-Manasa as a gardener.

I can taste the cohesion already.

Notes for Session 16

Yes, this is very, very late. Actual session took place on Friday of May the 25th, year 2007.

Rellik's player, again, wasn't here. I think. It's, um, been a while. I know he was at least late.

Notes on Session 14

This is, I know, incredibly late. I was procrastinating, and then I lost my laptop cord. (Hooray for science!) Actual session happened on the 12th.

I think Rellik's player was missing, but I can't quite confirm it, because I suspect the memory may be out of habit. Anyone care to confirm this way or that?

Session 13 Notes

Rellik's player wasn't here.

Notes for Session 11

Yet again, Rellik's player couldn't make it. His excuses, while legitimate, are getting increasingly bizarre.

And -- wow, oh wow, do I need to clean up the categories on this thing.

Still More Notes

Session 10, Rellik's player couldn't make it.

Sorry about the session 10 summary being so late. Game on Friday; summary on Tuesday. Yowch. (Also: I really, really need to do something about the tags. They're not helpful at all.)

Additonal Notes For Posterity

Rellik's player couldn't make it until half way through. And Captain Blank's was tired and annoyed.

Saturday, March 24, 2007

Yet More Notes For Posterity

Rellik's player wasn't here for either of sessions 7 and 8.

Further Notes

These summary things just keep getting later. Going to have to do something about that.

This time, session 5, Rellik's player wasn't here, which is why Rellik spent most of the session on the ship. (Part of the reason, anyway.) So we've had three weeks without having a full session, with everyone present.

I updated the timeline post. And fixed a couple of time discrepancies in the fourth session summary.

And . . . what is it about Sundays? Exactly? Every Sunday, a bunch of random wackos show up, with nary so much as a referrer, and then they disappear the next day. It's not that I'm complaining, I just wonder, what could possibly be causing this to happen?

More Notes For Posterity

Sorern's player wasn't here for Session 4, which is why Sorern stayed on the ship the whole time.

Also, I'm sorry if the latest summary isn't all that coherent. I'd like to say it made sense at the time, but thinking back on it, well, there were some temporal incidents.

Character Questionnaire

I've added a couple of links -- the Burning Void player section, and the Mother of All Character Questionnaires.

I also put together a short list of questions that interest me. I've been meaning to do this for a while. If you do it, e-mail me or post it here.

Do you have any nicknames, street names, titles, or nom de plumes?

What is your full birth name?

What is your greatest strength?

What is your greatest weakness?

What is your most distinguishing feature?

What kind of clothing do you wear?

Where did you grow up?

Why did you leave?

Who is your closest friend?

Who is your worst enemy?

What is your greatest dream?

What is your greatest fear?

What would you die for?

What would you kill for?

Why This Blog Exits, and Other Questions You Don't Need Answered

I started this blog because I wanted to keep a record of this campaign. I don't have very good notes from my other two campaigns, for various lousy reasons, and I wanted to see if I could do something different for this one. Making it a blog makes it easier for the players to see it, and will (hopefully) make me more likely to update it.

It's also intended as a general place to put things related to the campaign. Depending on how interested people are in visiting here, this function may get more or less use. But if people have character journals, or pictures, or character histories, then they can go here. (Character summaries will also be coming soon. Probably. It'd be useful to have stats somewhere, in case a character sheet gets lost.) If I can I get my act together, there may even be campaign info here--rumors, happenings, NPCs highlights, obscure customs, and other items of varying uselessness.

One last note, on the links list. The things under "Roleplaying Resources" are intended to actually be useful. Roleplaying Tips, particularly, is worth a visit. It's where I learned half of what I know about GMing. (The other half was learned through painful, painful mistakes.) Though it is mostly a GM resource, there are some good player tips, too. (At the risk of being obvious . . .)

The stuff in the "Random Links" section mostly falls under the category of "because I can." The song amuses me, and the blogs are listed because I figure that someone might occasional wander through here.
